Yesterday’s garden tour and tasting was extra special. Our friends at mindfulCITY and WSVN channel 7 were on hand to capture Chef Julie in action! The visit will be aired in July on ch.7’s Money Monday discussing where to find life enriching activities in your area that are easy on the wallet. It was an honor to have been selected to participate in this segment and we are truly thankful.

Originally a native of Miami, Katie graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications after majoring in Advertising and minoring in Entrepreneurship. Katie’s ultimate passion however always lied with educating others and launching a business that would help individuals aspire to live healthier balanced lives. Over the course of time, her frustrations deepened after continuously realizing how many people would end their work day and neglect their own personal livelihoods due to lack of time, motivation and unavailable local educational resources. Thus, the concept of mindfulCITY was born and Katie’s dreams soon became a reality.
Currently the website appeals to men and women of all ages and demographics looking for enriching resources and services from yoga, acupuncture to nutritional counseling and beyond. In her free time, Katie also serves as a high school student mentor for teenagers seeking guidance as they pursue their college careers. She co-facilitates the admissions process and supports the student and family in strategic college planning. One of Katie’s favorite quotes by Mark Twain is a true testament to her outlook in both her personal and professional life. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Katie’s passions also include singing, traveling and spending time with her loved ones.
